Do you want to do your bit for the whole Armed Forces family? If you feel strongly that our Armed Forces deserve politicians' support, especially at this time, get behind The Royal British Legion's general election manifesto campaign!

Please go to www.timetodoyourbit.org.uk and sign up to do your bit to support the whole Armed Forces family. In return you will be sent a thank you pledge card which you can use to canvass further support and to show that you are willing to do your bit beyond the general election.

Ex-RAF squadron leader, and Prospective Member of Parliament for Bristol East Mike Popham said "We have now been at war for many years under this Government, unopposed by the Conservative Official Opposition party. Only the Liberal Democrats opposed the illegal war in Iraq. This must represent in political terms failure on the part of our Government, and other Governments. That failure is borne mainly by our brave Service Personnel and their families.

There is so much more that could be done for them by us, in particular requiring the Ministry of Defence to take more responsibility for Service personnel and their families who have been damaged by armed conflict, throughout their remaining lives. If they can maintain equipment through life, they can do better for our service personnel and families through life."
