"I was really pleased to hear that Bristol is the most improved authority in the South West for GCSE results grades A* to C. It's evidence that the steps being taken by schools, pupils and the Council to improve education standards in the City are working and real progress is being made.
There is still a lot of work to be done to roll back years of Labour failure and Tory apathy here in education, and to make sure that the majority of Bristol students are achieving high grades. But this is certainly a step in the right direction. Labour and the Tories joining together on the Council in 2007 delayed these Lib Dem improvements by 2 years." said Mike Popham, your Lib Dem prospective Member of Parliament.
