Jackie Norman calls for clean-up12.14.41am GMT Tue 27th Feb 2007 Huge quantities of litter have piled up opposite the end of Hillsborough Road near the Sainsbury supermarket in Brislington West, the ward represented by Liberal Democrat Councillors Jackie Norman and Peter Main. A local resident reported it to Bristol City Council before Christmas 2006 and again in January before asking Jackie for help. Jackie has asked for the rubbish to be cleared as a matter of urgency. On a wider note and following numerous complaints, the City's Lib Dem Cabinet is preparing a new schedule to increase the frequency of street cleaning. Where possible, it will be done within a day or so of waste collections. The timetable will be sent to all Councillors so that residents will be able to check when their street is due to be cleaned.
